By Train:

South West Trains run an hourly service to Gillingham (Dorset) from London Waterloo and Exeter.

There is a parking area next to the camp and we have a wheelbarrow to help you ferry your belongings.

The Yurt Field

It is a real field! So the ground can be uneven. There are stone paths to each yurt, as well as steps up to the front doors. Please contact us for more information if a member of your party has a disability and we will do our best to advise or assist you.

Shopping and eating out

The nearest village shop is two miles away in Marnhull. Our local independent supermarket and deli Dike & Son in Stalbridge does a home delivery service – either phone and book delivery in advance, or cycle to the shop, choose what you want, maybe stop for lunch or a cream tea and have them pop it over later (Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays). Visit or call 01963 362204 for more details. There is also a Tesco store in Shaftesbury.

There is a farm shop nearby, The Udder Farm Shop, which has a cafe serving breakfast from 8.30am, lunches and afternoon teas. They sell local meat and lots of other West Country goodies – see

Local country pubs include the Kings Arms Inn at East Stour (just 2 miles away), The Ship Inn at West Stour, The Stapleton Arms at Buckhorn Weston and The Blackmore Vale Inn at Marnhull. All of them serve good food, or you can visit Shaftesbury, which has plenty of restaurants, pubs and cafes.

We’re open all year round for long weekends, mid-week breaks or full week-long glamping holidays – have a look round our website and don’t hesitate to call us if you have any queries.

Because we are a farm and have livestock, we are sorry but we do not allow dogs at Caalm Camp Please see our Terms & Conditions section on the Bookings page for more detailed information
