How To Find Us

By Car

From London or Exeter, turn off the A303 at Chicklade and follow the A350 to Shaftesbury. At Shaftesbury, take the A30 turn-off to Yeovil and after approx 3 miles, turn left at the Kings Arms. Continue to the end of this road until the T-junction then turn right. Continue for a third of a mile down a narrow lane and as it widens you will see Goods Farm on the left, with a Royal Mail brick post box opposite.  Click the what3words logo below for our precise location.

By Train

South West Trains run an hourly service to Gillingham (Dorset) from both London Waterloo and Exeter, our nearest train station just 10 minutes away.

Parking

Caamp Camp has a communal parking lot in close proximity to the yurts.   Sorry, but no parking in front of your yurt.  We can, however, provide you with a wheelbarrow to help you ferry your belongings to your accommodation.  We suggest less is more.

The Yurt Field

Our yurt glamping site spent its former life as a diary field for many years, with many a cow trampling over it, so, unsurprisingly,  it can be a little uneven in places. Because we are an inclusive campsite, and welcome disabled guests too, we have gone to great lengths to lay down level stone paths leading to each yurt.  Additionally, as we provide ramps to enable unhindered access into the yurts, via their traditional doors, we are able to maintain the authenticity of the yurts.  Please contact us for more information if a member of your party has a disability.  We will be happy to advise you further on accessibility or any other concern you may have.  Our aim is to always find a resolution to any problem.

Shopping and Eating Out

For your Essentials

You will be spoilt for choice for places to eat out and shop.  Although the nearest village shop is just 2 miles away in Marnhull, our local independent supermarket and deli, Dike & Sons in Stalbridge, provides a home delivery service. We recommend that you book your delivery in advance, or simply take a leisurely bike ride there, grab what you want directly off the shelf, and have it delivered by the shop at a time which suits.  We highly recommend stopping for lunch or a traditional cream tea (available Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays). Visit welovedorsetfood.co.uk or call 01963 362204 for more details. Right on our door step is a Tesco store in Shaftesbury for your essential items.

The Udder Farm Shop, comprising an excellent cafe serving breakfast from 8.30am and lunches and afternoon teas is also just a stone’s throw away.  They sell local meat and lots of other West Country goodies, so well worth a visit.   Visit www.theudderfarmshop.co.uk for more information.

Local country pubs include the Kings Arms Inn at East Stour (just 2 miles away), The Ship Inn at West Stour, The Stapleton Arms at Buckhorn Weston, and The Blackmore Vale (website under development). We highly recommend all these tried and tested pubs for serving quality food. Alternatively, nip up the road to Shaftesbury to discover a plethora of restaurants as well as yet more pubs and, equally important, cafes such as Costa and Cafe One for your essential Cappacino or latte, or The Salt Cellar who cater specifically to the dietary needs of vegans.

We are open all year round for extended weekend, mid-week breaks, or for full week-long glamping holidays. Check out our website for more details and please do not hesitate get in touch with all your questions.

Caalm Camp is a farm with livestock so only guide dogs are permitted.  Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for further details.
